Transitioning from CodeGuard to Xcitium Backup – FAQs
To continually enhance the services we offer, we will be transitioning customers from CodeGuard to our new website backup solution, Xcitium Backup.
This article answers common questions about the transition from CodeGuard to Xcitium Backup.
Will my package change, and will I lose any features?
Your new Xcitium Backup package is intended to closely match your current CodeGuard package, including the key backup and restore features you use today.
Will my price change?
No. Your current price will remain the same after the transition to Xcitium Backup.
Will I lose my existing CodeGuard backups?
Your existing CodeGuard backup files will not be automatically moved to Xcitium Backup. To avoid losing access to any important backups, we strongly recommend downloading and saving any critical CodeGuard backup files before your current CodeGuard service expires.
What happens if I do not download my CodeGuard backups before renewal?
Once your CodeGuard service expires, your previous CodeGuard backup files may no longer be accessible. We strongly recommend downloading any important backups before your renewal is completed.
Will my current CodeGuard settings be copied across to Xcitium?
No. Your current CodeGuard settings and custom configurations will not be automatically copied to Xcitium Backup. After renewal, you will need to log in to your account manager and configure Xcitium Backup to continue backing up your website and database.
When will the change to Xcitium happen?
The change will happen when your current CodeGuard service renews. After renewal, Xcitium Backup will be added to your account.
Where can I find my upcoming renewal date?
You can find your upcoming renewal date by logging in to your account manager and checking the renewal section.
Can I continue using CodeGuard?
No. Once your CodeGuard service expires, it will be discontinued. The service cannot be extended after expiry, so we recommend downloading any important CodeGuard backups before that date and setting up Xcitium Backup after renewal.
What if I don’t download my backups before renewal?
If you do not download your CodeGuard backups before renewal, your previous backup files may no longer be accessible once your CodeGuard service expires. Be sure to download your backups promptly to prevent irreversible data loss.
